the hospital has been quickly adapted for the treatment of Coronavirus patients:

• 4 ECMO devices to support heart and lungs

• Sterile safety sleeves for passageways

• 5 remote medical command and control centers with CCTV cameras

• Surgery and recovery rooms for Coronavirus patients

• Ventilation and air distribution systems

• 1,000 staff members

• Strict measures to maintain the safety of the medical staff

The Ministry of Health has contacted the management of Rabin Medical Center (Beilinson and HaSharon Hospitals) with a request to set up a 5-ward facility in Hasharon Hospital designated for Coronavirus patients only. The medical center staff immediately and fully committed to the national mission, and started working around the clock, 24/7, in order to adjust the facility for admission and treatment of 200 Coronavirus patients.  This massive preparatory marathon included establishment of remote medical technology infrastructure, command and control centers on each floor  featuring advanced technology and audio-video integrated systems that allow medical teams to contact the patients and manage the wards remotely, in order to maintain the safety of the medical staff. The various systems monitor the patients’ motion  and medical condition. All medical data, including ventilation and monitoring systems data, are transmitted directly into the medical file.
Facility management and operation will be carried out via advanced technology that allows minimum staff exposure, while maintaining full communication with the patients and providing them with medical treatment according to the needs of each patient.

Hasharon Hospital is prepared and ready to treat patients in moderate and severe condition, including those who require mechanical ventilation, and is even capable of treating Coronavirus patients who require urgent surgery or catheterization. The decision to designate 5 wards for Coronavirus patients from the Central District in a hospital dedicated solely to coronavirus,  will allow treatment of these patients separately, while fully preventing the exposure of other patients. Visitors, as well as other patients, will not be allowed to enter, for the benefit of public health in Israel.
