About the department
Internal Medicine Ward E patients are hospitalized with a variety of internal diseases, both on urgent basis through the emergency room and for complex investigations, in coordination with the family doctor. The department places special emphasis on infectious diseases, especially in immunocompromised patients; and severe congestive heart failure patients, candidates for heart transplant or carrying LVAD.
Academic and research activity
Our ward has an advanced research unit, focusing on ing infectious diseases and epidemiology, especially multi-drug resistant infections and treatment options in these infections, infections in immunosuppressed patients and older adults, clostridioides difficile infection and COVID-19.
