About the department
Internal Medicine Ward E patients are hospitalized with a variety of internal diseases, both on urgent basis through the emergency room and for complex investigatios, in coordination with the family doctor. The department places special emphasis on establishing and expanding its cooperation with the community clinics.
Academic and research activity
Our research areas include, inter alia:
Bacterial infections and antibiotic treatments. The department participates in international research on: "Optimal antibiotic therapy", headed by Steen Andersen of Denmark and Professor Leonard Leibowitz. Our research activity also encompasses the spectrum of self-vaccination and vascular disease, mainly ANCA - Diseases transmitted through interpersonal contact, Behcet's disease, as well as experimental models of systemic lupus and the APS syndrome.
