The Institute of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the Beilinson and Sharon Hospitals is among the largest in Israel.
The Institute's main area of activity is consultation, diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of a variety of diseases related to hormonal disorders and hormone secretion glands, including the thyroid gland, the parathyroid gland, the pancreas, the adrenal glands, the pituitary gland (Hypophysis), and sex hormones. The Institute concentrates the treatment of the most common problems in the field of endocrinology: diabetes, thyroid disorders and osteoporosis.
The Institute serves approximately 18,000 patients a year. These patients receive advanced and professional treatment. Endocrinology problems are usually chronic and may accompany the patient for the rest of his life. Therefore, the center ensures that each patient is assigned to a personal physician who will closely monitor him and provide him with the best possible treatment. The clinics at the Institute maintain continuity of treatment from the stage of diagnosis, treatment, to periodic examinations and monitoring of the results of the medical treatment. The Institute collaborates with the leading research institutes in Israel and abroad in the various fields of endocrinology.
