Information Specialist: Shlomit Gadot
Patients with cancer diseases and their families are eager to receive information regarding treatment possibilities for specific diseases, side effects and prognosis, quality of life issues, patients’ rights and treatment protocols in various clinical research stages.
The Mair Laiser Cancer Information Center Headed by Mr. Shlomit Gadot. The Davidoff Center was established to provide cancer patients with up-to-date, relevant and reliable information from a wide variety of resources according to individual needs. This information enables patients to benefit from better understanding of their medical condition, reducing stress created by the unknown and misunderstood, and gives them the tools to actively participate in important decision-making regarding their care.
The Center’s team, including a professional information specialist and knowledgeable well-trained volunteers, give personal attention, supply reliable information according to specific requests and guide visitors in the use of the various resources. Their personal touch is a major factor in offering focused information in a calming environment.
Resources include relevant medical literature and brochures, audio-visual equipment, informative movies and pre-programmed internet stations.
The Information Center enjoys the backing of the highly professional medical staff of the hospital.
This service is open to all patients of the Davidoff Center free of charge. Information can also be sent by mail.
The Center was established thanks to the support of the Laiser family in memory of Mair Laiser, who was the Chairman of the Friends of Rabin Medical Center from 1996 to 2003.
