About the departrment
Surgical Department B of the surgical center is a general surgery department dealing with gastrointestinal surgery (benign and malignant tumors), various hernia operations, breast surgery, gallbladder surgery, upper gastrointestinal surgery, gastrointestinal tract -esophagus, stomach and duodenum, and lower gastrointestinal tract - colon surgery, rectum and proctology.
The department specializes in advanced laparoscopic surgery:
colorectal laparoscopy surgery, gallbladder laparoscopy surgery, gastrectomy laparoscopy, laparoscopic hernias, prevention of reflux and diaphragmatic hernia.
A unique area of the department's activity is engaged in is TEM surgery - Trans Anal Microsurgery, this is a method for lesion excision (polyps and superficial tumors) in the rectum, rectally, using a minimally invasive microsurgery technique and thereby eliminating the need for major abdominal surgery. Our department is the only one in Israel that performs these operations.

- Laparoscopic surgery in the colon - at an older age.
Inguinal hernia repair using laparoscopy - comparison of methods.
- Radiation and preoperative chemotherapy of rectal carcinoma.
- Percutaneous puncture of gall bladder in patients with high surgical risk.
- A prospective study comparing colorectal surgery with and without mechanical preparation.
