About the Department
The Department of Anesthesiology, directed by Dr Ilia Chorny provides anesthesiology services for the entire hospital including 11 operating rooms, the recovery room, acute pain service, pain clinic, day surgery center, pre-anesthetic clinic and gastroenterology services. The staff performs more than 8,000 anesthetics a year, including orthopedics, general surgery, EET, urology, ophthalmology etc. There are 4,000 annual visits to the pain clinic and over 5,000 visits to the pre-anesthetic clinic. The department runs an extensive invasive pain management program on an in-hospital and day-care basis.
