​About the departmen

 The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery focuses on seven main areas:

  1. Correction of congenital and acquired deformities in the structure of the face and jaws.
  2. Surgical and combined treatment of benign and malignant tumors that damage the tissues of the oral cavity and facial bones.
  3. Urgent treatment of fractures and bruises of the facial skeleton.
  4. Treatment of severe infections of the oral cavity and jaws.
  5. Reconstruction of missing soft and bony tissues of the face and jaws in the event of bruising damage, oncology resections and previous treatments.
  6. Dentition reconstruction, including reconstruction on complex implants and bone transplants.
  7. Diagnosis and treatment of functional dysfunction of the jaw joints and of facial and jaw pains.


In addition, a wide range of treatments are available in the outpatient clinic, including oral medicine, dental treatment for high-risk patients, dental treatment for the general public, root canal treatments and periodontal diseases.

 The surgical procedures are performed by a team of specialists in oral and maxillofacial surgery under general or local anesthesia in the outpatient clinics or in hospital for observation and/or intensive care.

Academic and research activities 

  The department conducts regular academic activities, clinical and basic studies, and publishes regularly in the professional literature on facial and jaw surgery.
The department is recognized for specialization by the Ministry of Health and the Scientific Council, and is affiliated to the Sackler Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University and the Maurice and Gabriela Goldschleger School of Dental Medicine.

Admission for treatment in the department

In order to get admitted for treatment in the department, the patient needs to be examined in the outpatient clinic with a referral from the dentist or from your healthcare provider.

The hospitalization ward is located  on the 7th floor of the Gur Shasha Building, on the 7th floor
