The Herzfeld Geriatric Rehabilitation Medical Center
was established on the initiative of the former Knesset member, the late Avraham Herzfeld, as a convalescent home for the treatment of elderly immigrants and the terminally-ill elderly. The treating staff then was 4 doctors and 120 nurses.
In 1983, the institution was converted to a geriatric hospital, and in 1994 it was administratively merged with Kaplan Medical Center in Rehovot. Later, physiotherapy and occupational therapy institutes were established in it, and the place became a multidisciplinary geriatric center.
From 2013 until today, the Hospital has continuously won an award as an outstanding specialized hospital of Clalit Health Services.
