Moreover, we have progressed in our ability to identify, characterize and treat endometriosis.
A high percentage of women suffer from chronic pelvic pain and about 10% suffer from endometriosis. The symptoms of endometriosis are strong pain during the menstrual cycle, pain during sexual relations and fertility problems. Additional symptoms can be expressed in the digestive system, in the urine tracts and in ovarian cysts.
The Kaplan Medical Center clinic provides multi-disciplinary answers both in the clarification stage and in the treatment stage. The clinic includes an OB/GYN ultra sound unit, a fertility unit, a pain clinic, urologic and gynecologic consult, physical therapy and even sexual therapy.
Mostly, the clinic includes the staff to see the patient, be attentive to her and can spend proper time with her to characterize the pain, diagnose what she really suffers from and adapt her with a personal treatment.
The clinic is managed by Dr. Ziv Tzafrir, an alumni of the Medicine Faculty in the Tel Aviv University (and also has an LLB in Law), who interned in OB/GYN in Israel and completed his fellowship in micro-invasive surgery in Michigan, USA.
Dr. Tzafrir led hundreds of complicated surgeries and participated in an active research, and now he manages the endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain in Kaplan Medical Center.
