Our
management attaches great importance to clinical research, and actively promotes
research through the Center for Clinical Research and Soroka University
Med Center IRB which includes the Institutional Review Board (“Helsinki
committee”) for Research Management.
Approximately 300 studies are approved annually at
Soroka, and at any given time approximately 500 studies are being conducted.
Many of these are carried out with close collaboration between Soroka
researchers and researchers from our close affiliate, Ben-Gurion University of
the Negev.
At Soroka, research is conducted in a wide range of
medical fields, and includes:
- Epidemiological studies
- Innovative studies initiated by our
physicians
- International studies conducted in cooperation with the
world’s leading pharmaceutical companies
Protecting the safety, rights, and welfare of the
patients who participate in clinical research is the highest priority when a
clinical study is being approved.
