The Institute for Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging is at the heart of medical activity. It is an essential tool in diagnosis by means of physiological imaging tests for hospitalized and ambulatory patients from the entire southern region. It also provides services to other medical centers.

In many cases, nuclear medicine can diagnose a disease in its earliest stages, long before findings are shown by other imaging methods, such as X-ray, MRI, CT, and ultrasound.

The staff of the Institute for Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, under the management of Dr. Sofia Landsberg, includes specialists, interns, nursing staff, medical technologists, and administrators. The institute is equipped with the most advanced technologies and equipment available today. Tests are performed there according to the leading protocols in Israel and the world. The institute's staff members are leaders in the field. The institute is at the forefront of excellence and innovation in quality, professionalism, safety, and service. In addition, it is involved in the promotion of scientific research.

The Institute of Nuclear Medicine is accredited for medical residencies, trains physicians, and plays a significant part in teaching and research at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.

Dr. Sofia Landserg, director of the Institute for Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging at Soroka University Medical Center: “Introducing this new and advanced PET-CT scanner to the institute represents a particularly exciting step as it uses state-of-the-art technology and will benefit our patients.
