Teaching based on simulations in the field of health enables in-depth and practical learning in all fields of medicine and medical education.
It is a tool used by medical, nursing and paramedical professions with the aim of learning professional standards, work processes and new procedures using different methods that simulate reality in the clinical environment.
The field of simulations in the world has developed by leaps and bounds and today incorporates new technologies, such as virtual reality, which allows the treatment teams a learning environment and practical practice in innovative treatment skills and approaches.
Raya Gal, a registered nurse in Soroka and a simulation expert for the health professions initiated and developed together with Dr. Lior Fox, a senior physician in the internal intensive care unit in Soroka and who is the head of the school of ultrasound studies POCUS, the unique simulation seminar designed to train clinical instructors in the theory of simulation.
In the recent seminar, about 150 senior medical and nursing professionals from Israel and various countries around the world participated, including the USA, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Mexico, South Africa and Kenya, who expressed their desire for continued future cooperation in the field.
Raya Gal says: "As part of the first seminar of its kind in Israel, we held three meetings that dealt with different and diverse medical simulation methods.
The purpose of the seminar is to expose people from the fields of medicine to the world of simulations, so that they can integrate the innovative methods in their work, improve their clinical skills and their performance."
