H', a K9 fighter, was evacuated to Soroka after being injured in battle this week. His fighting companion, a dog named Sutter, was also injured and rushed to the hospital's trauma room with him.
The medical team provided life-saving treatment to H'. They also took care of Sutter's treatment. Prof. Alexander Zlotnik, who is the Head of the ICU and Anesthesiology division, called Dimitri Altshuler. Dimitri is the city veterinarian, and he is regularly recruited for such cases.
Just like a true partner, Sutter never left H's bed and found it difficult to leave. Sutter was treated and returned to the unit yesterday.
H's health has significantly improved; he is still in the surgical ward and is expected to be discharged soon to reunite with his beloved Sutter.
