Maj. Gen. (res.) Yohanan Locker, Chairman of Clalit Health Services's Board of Directors, visited Soroka University Medical Center yesterday and witnessed the hospital staff's broad range of activities.
Dr. Shlomi Codish, director general of Soroka, reviewed Soroka's activities, achievements, and challenges with Locker. Locker met with Dr. Atif Zeadna, Head of the Fertility and In-Vitro Fertilization Unit, who spoke with him about pre-implantation testing (PGT), emphasizing its importance, capabilities, and significance for patients, and discussed the latest innovations in the field.
In addition, he met with Dr. Uri Greenbaum, head of cellular therapy, from whom he heard about CART-cell cancer therapy and the innovative developments planned in this area at Soroka. Dr. Michal Gordon, director of clinical data research at Soroka's Research and Innovation Authority, reported to Locker on the advanced capabilities in the field of research data, breakthroughs in the field of NLP, and Soroka's successes as a leading medical center in research and innovation.
Locker also met with Soroka's teams at the sleep laboratory, the Pathology Institute, and the sterile supplies unit and visited the new Urology Institute, which is in its final stages of construction.
