This week, a ceremony was held to honor Clalit Health Services' outstanding institutions. At this moving event, Soroka University Medical Center was declared an outstanding Clalit hospital for 2022.
Eli Cohen, CEO of Clalit; Maj. Gen. (res.) Yochanan Locker, chairman of Clalit's Board of Directors; and Dr. Orli Weinstein, deputy director and head of Clalit's Hospital Division, presented the excellence award to Dr. Shlomi Codish, director general of Soroka, and representatives of the management and employees for their roles in this achievement.
Soroka was chosen by the CEO and general management of Clalit as the best hospital for 2022 from among its general hospitals, ranking first and receiving high results in the weighted score. Soroka was selected due to its achievements in many areas, including the cultivation of human resources, quality of medical care, patient experience, the promotion of research and innovation, media exposure and public image, operational efficiency, and more.

Our achievement is especially noteworthy because 2022 was a particularly challenging year. It began with the pandemic's most significant wave of COVID-19 morbidity and continued with the IDF's Operation Breaking Dawn. Soroka's teams faced these challenges with determination, strengthening Soroka as a leading medical center, reinforcing its sense of family and mutual responsibility, and successfully promoting the health of the residents of the Negev."
