The Ophthalmology section at the Soroka Medical Center is the only
major medical center in the Negev (south of Israel). It serves a population of
more than one million inhabitants, including 400,000 children, in a region that
accounts for 60% of the country’s total land area.
The section provides a wide
range of advanced services including diagnoses and treatment of ocular diseases,
trauma, inpatient hospitalization, operating rooms, and emergency services. The
section is affiliated to the Faculty of Health Sciences and to the Medical
School of Ben-Gurion University.
A highly
trained staff of over eighty clinicians, surgeons, nursing staff, Imaging
technicians, opticians, front office and back office services, dedicated to
provide optimal care for any ophthalmic condition.
