Science and Technology Camp at the Nitzana Youth VillageChildren aged 8 to 17 who are patients in the Oncology Ward at Soroka attend this special five-day sleepover camp, which is an ongoing activity of the science-technology educational program at the Center. The idea is to take sick children out of the treatment framework in the hospital and allow them to get out and have fun while they learn. The young patients are accompanied by guides from Nitzana, the school staff, physicians, and nurses from the hospital. Children may bring a parent or other escort to join them. Campers are treated to recreational activities, workshops on the environment, science days, sports, music and dance performances, festive meals, activities with animals, and a special day trip. The camp is sponsored by the Ministry of Education - Southern District, Soroka, the Rashi Foundation, "Madarom," and many other donors.
