Driving is considered vital for a person’s independence and mobility. Many people suffering from medical or physical disabilities, especially those who have recently suffered from stroke, head or back injuries, neurological diseases, learning disorders and more, need to have their ability to drive evaluated.
The National Center for Diagnosis and Rehabilitation of Driving Capabilities offers comprehensive services by an occupational therapist who checks and evaluates the necessary skills for driving, and teaches exercises to improve specific skills such as response time, balance, visual focus and more. In addition, advice is proffered concerning optional car accessories, and clients are prepared for official driving capability evaluation tests.
